Be it the rough inspector act of Mammootty as Balram in Aavanazhi or the packed-with-a-punch dialogues of Suresh Gopi as Bharath Chandran IPS in Commissioner or Mohanlal as an adorable IPS officer Antony Varghese in Olympian Antony Adam, cop roles have always been a favourite with the Malayali audience. This year also saw a host of stars trying to create an impact in their khaki avatar. And they did indeed created ripples at the box office.

1 by Two. Fahadh Faasil will play an investigative officer here. Interestingly, this will be the first time Fahadh will be wearing the khaki uniform.
Gangs of Vadakkumnathan One of the segments of action anthology, D-Company — a gangster film, deals with the gang wars happening in and around Thrissur. The segment directed by Diphan stars Jayasurya, Unni Mukundan and Anoop Menon in lead roles. Anoop and Unni will be seen playing undercover cops in this action film.
Day of Judgement Yet another segment of D-Company, the movie is directed by Vinod Vijayan. Interestingly, Ee Adutha Kaalathu fame Tanusree Ghosh plays a police officer in this investigative thriller. The segment also stars Fahadh Faasil and Bhamaa in prominent roles.
Salaam Kashmir Director Joshiy’s much hyped movie is not an action thriller as it is rumoured to be. The movie starring Jayaram and Suresh Gopi is more of a family drama. It throws light into the mysterious past of a happily married man played by Jayaram. The film is touted as a comeback of sorts for Suresh Gopi. The posters of them in army uniforms are already going viral on the internet.
Paris Payyans In Arun Sithara’s directorial debut, Prathap Pothen will be seen doing a Kiran Bedi. He plays a police commissioner, who wants to reform criminals and helps them find a
living.
Driver on Duty Director Manoj Palodan had earlier announced that his directorial debut will have Asif Ali playing a driver in a women’s police station. Buzz is that Remya Krishnan will play a police officer here.
